The store is open Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.  

This store is an Amish managed store by the Schrock family and follows the traditions, rules and customs of the Amith faith and culture.  Visit with La Vonne, Valerie or Luke, they are anxious to visit with you.  Our store is located in an Amish General Store and you will love the ambience and additional shopping.

Directions

Downtown Nappanee is served by two State Roads 6 & 19.  Travel 3.5 miles north on State Road 19 to County Road 50.  There is a very large church on the north west corner of the intersection and go east for 2.5 miles. We are located in a barn like building on the south side of the road.  If you pass a church and cemetery, you just missed us.

We might be a bit out of the way, but your stop with be in a real Amish general store that the Amish purchase some of their dry goods.  Many items are in bulk.  You will have a great experience in the general store and the furniture store which is upstairs.

•   All Hardwood Oak, Cherry, Maple, White Oak, Walnut & Hickory is native to this area, harvested and the land repopulated with a new generation of trees.  They do not leave barren land.
• All harvest trees are cut in sawmills owned and operated by the Amish.  The sawdust is sold and is use for horse bedding and other natural needs.
• All manure from horses and other animals is spread on the fields as fertilizer and is totally organic.  This is totally sustainable products because the horses are used for transportation and planting.  They grow and cut hay for feeding their horses.  I call their hay fields "Gas" for their vehicles.  Talk about sustainable.
• The wood is then sent to small furniture shops which employ local neighbors and relatives and they also employ non Amish at a very competitive wage.
• The sawdust generated is utilized and not thrown away.  Everything is used.
• Lumber scraps are utilized for other products or used as fuel.

Living Room Furniture

We recently reached an agreement with an Old Order manufacturing company that makes possibly the finest living room furniture in the world.  Their quality will go against any of the major high end companies for quality and price.  When I first sat down in one of their chairs, I knew that I was sitting in one of the highest possible rated seating sofas or chair.  These are that good.

The images you view are not taken with a camera.  They were hand drawn because this order of Amish does not believe in taking pictures of their work because it exudes pride and they are against that vice.

Stains & Paints

We are now interactive with a company that we have been doing business for years.  They now have the colors on this website:

Go to the "Premiere Color" section and make your choice of stain or paint.  When you have made your choice, send me the STAIN NUMBER.  This is critical so we do not apply the wrong stain color.  Mistakes have happened and if you send me the name, I will email you for the number.

If you are not sure of the color, stain or wood species and want more stain blocks, they are $15.00 each plus shipping.

Special Stains or Matching Stains

Finish Works are experts at matching stains.  We have completed this service for many clients and they were ecstatic.  Depending on what your order, this cost is usually absorbed by us, but if it is a small item or if a quote has been already presented to you, there is special stain charge of $95.00 just for the stain.  We will send you a stain block with your color match before the sale is consummated.  I do not like surprises. There is always a minor difference due to wood aging, moisture and ultra violet.

Special Notice

If you order several items such as table and chairs and even a hutch for your home and you need a special stain not in our catalog, we will match that stain color.  This is a bit more expensive for me, and also takes a bit more time and attention, but the results is my goal.  All parts will look the same without any deviation.  We are committed to quality and take the necessary steps to insure that quality.

 We take special precautions that all of your furniture is finished at only one finish house and by the same person. 

Custom Furniture

Though the course of the years of selling Amish Furniture, we are doing more and more custom furniture more on a regular basis.

We have created custom furniture with our clients design for such items and a Mail Box (which won a design award with the ASID), Plant Pedestal with tapered angles, A Spiral Legged Table,  modern elegant Nested Tables with twisted legs, a complete very modern office setting with desk, chair and filing cabinet, a portable Wine Bar, Knitting Cabinet on casters, portable Hall Tree out of Oak, Elevating Table with cushioned benches. Futon Living Center for the student or very small apartment. Four Panel Screen with cut glass  design at the top. and a Coffee Table with Glass Top and Slots to show rock gems or other collectables.  These are just some of the few items we have completed.

We take our custom furniture seriously in that the client does speak directly with the Amish craftsman who is making his special piece.

Dining Room Sets

We offer some brilliantly styled dining room sets master crafted by the Amish, known for their quality and the use of hard woods to last for generations.  These dining sets never go out of fashion because some of these styles have been in vogue for hundreds of years.

But we also offer a huge assortment of table, chairs, china cabinets, hutches, buffets and leave storage cabinets if you would like to design your own dining room and we can help in whatever way you wish us to assist.
First step is catalogs and then we move along at your pace.  This process takes some time and patience for everything to be proper, correct and to your full expectations.

All Products on this site is made in the United States and one in Canada

All products are made by Amish Craftsmen except 2 and both are wood cook stoves but we do have a cook stove made by a fine Amish builder.

We are very proud of this and will continue to use Amish craftsmen and a few American companies with American people making the products except for our one Canadian product which is like nothing else.  It is the quality and customer service that sold us.
